Ponder is a free collection of logic puzzles you can play in your browser. There are eight kinds of puzzle, a new Daily set every day, a Weekly collection, and a Library of boards to dip into whenever you like.
Who makes Ponder
Ponder is made by Jin at Decent Software Pty Ltd, an independent digital product studio in Melbourne, Australia. Jin also writes the guides and journal notes on this site. Visit Decent Software to learn more about the studio.
The puzzles
Each family has its own rules and asks for a different kind of thinking:
- Binary: balance circles and diamonds across every row and column.
- Rectangles: split the board into rectangles using area and shape clues.
- Paths: draw one route through every cell, passing the numbers in order.
- Light Up: place lights until every cell is lit, without two lights seeing each other.
- Blooms: put one flower in every row, column and region, with no two touching.
- Ribbons: join matching pairs with ribbons that fill the whole board.
- Bridges: connect islands to match their numbers in one network.
- Mini Sudoku: fill a 6×6 grid so every row, column and box holds 1 to 6.
Every puzzle is checked for exactly one solution before it’s published, and every board has a hint that can show a next step or point out a mistake. What makes a puzzle trustworthy? explains how.
Ways to play
Open the Library to choose any family and difficulty. Play the Daily set in Calm, at your own pace, or as a timed Race against friends. Work through the Weekly collection over the course of the week. You can play as a guest; a free account keeps your completed puzzles with your account and adds Race, friends and groups. Choose a way to play compares them, and Help covers accounts, saves and the Daily set.
What’s next
We’re working on new puzzle families, puzzle packs, themes, and Ponder apps for phones and computers. The roadmap sets out the order we expect to release them in, and how we choose Ponder’s puzzles explains what a new family has to do to join.
